In full disclosure, Ipsy Glam Bags can either be a hit or miss. This month, however, I actually was really excited about this month's glam bag!
From the cute and creative glam bags to its variety of beauty products, it's a great way try new products at an extremely affordable price (products are typically worth $5-10). And- if you're anything like me- having miniature items are a definite plus for the gym, your purse or your travels. Glam bags can be purchased either on a month-to-month basis or for 11 months with the 12th month free at $10 a month ($$ saver).

The Claims:
Eyes & Lips:
Top to bottom: Ofra, Smashbox, RealHer, Lancome |
Starting off with the top, The Ofra liquid lipstick is a beautiful bright pink that would suit those with medium to dark skin tones. Once applied it does not budge. but with that being said it quite drying on the lips so be sure to exfoliate and moisturize before applying it. A full size product would retail for $20 on Ofra Cosmetic's website.
The Smashbox eyeliner is comparable to the Urban Decay Glide-on eyeliner in its creamy texture and high pigment, although it does not move around as much as it. A full size eyeliner retails for $18, which is cheaper than UD by $2. It's not a significance difference in price, but frankly it's a better product. Grab yours through any major high-end retailer (Sephora, Ulta, Smashbox, etc.).
The next two product were redeemed with accumulated points. Here's a quick run-down on points:
- You get 100 points for joining
- 250 points for each referred friend who joins with your unique referral link
- 15 points for reviewing each product included in your Ipsy Glam Bag
- 10 points for sharing your review of the Glam Bag and
- 10 points for following ipsy Creators on Twitter and Youtube
The packaging and color of the RealHer lipliner is more appealing than the product itself. I don't want to dismiss the product completely because it not bad if you can get past the extremely stiff and waxy texture that make it hard to blend. A upside to this is that it means it won't budge on your lips even when your lipstick fades. Additionally, the liner is beautifully has a pinky nude with brown undertones and is quite pigmented. These lipliners retail for $12.50, which would be considered pricey for your local drugstore and cheaper than any high-end lipliner.
Lastly, the Lancome mascaras are some of the best. Although they are pricey ($27.50), the lasting effect on your lashes make it worth it. This mascara adds extreme volume, just like it promises, with no flakiness. It can be layered without being too clumpy, and doesn't transfer to the eyes or contact lenses.
Skin Products:
FAB seems to be a skincare standard in the beauty world. Their products serve a broad range of skin types from dry to oily to acne prone. This cleanser has a frothy consistency, which is great for dry skin (especially in the winter time). It is not harsh on the skin either, which is another bonus for those with sensitive or acne prone skin. But scent cautious people be aware, the scent is not pleasant. A full size version of this product can be found at Ulta, Sephora, Amazon, FAB's website and other retailers for $20.
In a past glam bag I received a coconut milk daily moisturizer from this brand and absolutely loved it. So naturally, I was excited to see another product from them to try. With skincare I prefer to use ingredients that are natural but also cater to combination to dry, acne prone skin. The scrub is gritty- but not too harsh- and becomes a milky color when it washes off. And, in contrast the the FAB face wash, it smells delicious! You find it at your local CVS store, on Ipsy's or Promise Organic's website for $9.99.
Lottie London's nail polish in Riot! is a beautiful dark blue with silver reflects. Even as a non-nail polish wearer, this nail polish seems like a winter must-have color. It applies smoothly and dries rapidly. It also only requires two coats to get that opaque look. It's chic and suits a wide range of skin tones. This product is sold exclusively on Lottie London's website for $7.21 (5.99 euros).
